Fear of God for Men

Fear of God made its name on proportion. Jerry Lorenzo founded the Los Angeles label in 2013 and built it around long lines, dropped shoulders, muted colour and an unhurried approach to logos. The men's range at MARAIS carries both the main collection and the more accessible Essentials line, with Men Fear of God Clothing holding the ready-to-wear.

Fear of God: Los Angeles Proportion

Jerry Lorenzo started Fear of God in 2013 without formal fashion training, and that outsider position shaped the result. The house works in a narrow palette of creams, taupes, greys and blacks, and puts its effort into line and fabric rather than print. Sleeves run long, hems sit low, and the silhouette reads relaxed without collapsing. Later collections moved further toward tailoring, but the proportions stayed.

The Main Collection

Ready-to-wear in Men Fear of God Clothing covers the heavier end of the label: outerwear cut in wool and technical blends, relaxed tailoring, knitwear and the jersey pieces that carry the house's proportions most clearly. Fabric weight is the thing to note here, since much of what separates the main line from Essentials is the hand of the cloth.

Essentials and Footwear

The diffusion line sits in Fear of God Essentials for Men, with the ready-to-wear broken out further in Men Fear of God Essentials Clothing. Essentials keeps the same silhouette language at a lower price, which is why the hoodie became the label's most recognised piece. Footwear is in men fear of god shoes.

Both lines sit within the Men's Luxury Designer Fashion edit at MARAIS in Melbourne, shipping across Australia. Reductions on the diffusion line appear in Men Sale Fear of God Essentials.

Fear of God FAQs

What is the difference between Fear of God and Essentials?

Essentials is the label's lower-priced line, using simpler fabrics and construction while keeping the same relaxed proportions. The main collection uses heavier, more technical cloth and more complex tailoring.

Does Fear of God run oversized?

Yes, by design. Both lines are cut with dropped shoulders and long bodies, so your usual size gives the intended fit and sizing down reads closer to conventional.

Who founded Fear of God?

Jerry Lorenzo, in Los Angeles in 2013.
