Everyone can be a "work of art"

When artist Joseph Beuys staged his 1974 performance “I Like America and America Likes Me,” he transformed a New York gallery into a secluded space for interaction between man and nature.

Inspired by Beuys, Rick Owens sees his collaboration with Moncler as a sanctuary of self-reflection and protection. His collection, part of Moncler’s “The City of Genius” project, features oversized duvet jackets and a demountable mountain refuge, both designed as wearable, insulated spaces that evoke a sense of personal safety and creative transformation.

Rick Owens and Moncler collaboration, merges function with dramatic design, infusing everyday wear with a touch of runway spectacle. He challenges fashion’s split between fantasy and reality, aiming to make clothing that invites artistry into daily life, transforming each person into a “work of art.” Owens sees runway shows as ritualistic gatherings of beauty and connection, with each garment symbolising more than fashion—it embodies a shared vision and expressive statement.
