The Story of Marni
Marni was founded in 1994 by Consuelo Castiglioni, who launched the Milanese house alongside her husband, Gianni, drawing on the family's heritage in fur and leather. Castiglioni reimagined those raw materials with a designer's eye, shaving, dyeing and patchworking them into something entirely her own. From the outset, Marni became synonymous with bold prints, sculptural cuts and inventive textures, an artisanal sensibility that set it apart from polished Italian minimalism. Since 2016, creative director Francesco Risso has carried that spirit forward, expanding the brand's playful, art-driven identity for a new generation.
