Doublet: Tokyo Craft with a Straight Face
Masayuki Ino launched Doublet in Tokyo in 2012 and won the LVMH Prize in 2018, which brought international attention to a house that had been quietly doing the same thing for years. The work sits on solid Japanese production, then adds one idea that undercuts it: chain-stitch that comes apart, trompe-l'oeil prints, hardware where you would not expect it. The craft is what makes the humour land.
T-Shirts, Hoodies and Shirting
Graphic jersey is the entry point. Doublet T-shirts and hoodies carry the label's clearest ideas at the most accessible price, and shirting extends the same logic into something you can wear to work. All of it sits in Men Doublet Clothing, which is also where the outerwear and knitwear land as each season arrives.
Shoes, Bags and Accessories
Footwear in Men Doublet Shoes follows the same instinct for a familiar shape treated oddly, and Men Doublet Bags carries the everyday styles. Caps, jewellery and small leather goods are grouped in Men Doublet Accessories, which is the easiest way to add the label to an existing wardrobe.
Shop Doublet for Men at MARAIS
Doublet sits within the wider Men's Luxury Designer Fashion edit at MARAIS, shipping across Australia from Melbourne. Reduced pieces appear in Men Doublet Sale and the general Men's Luxury Designer Sale, and the women's range sits at Doublet for Women.
Doublet FAQs
Where is Doublet made?
The label is based in Tokyo and works largely with Japanese manufacturing, which is why the construction holds up against the more experimental finishes.
How does Doublet sizing run?
Most jersey and outerwear is cut relaxed on Japanese sizing, so a size 2 or 3 covers what many Australian customers wear as a medium or large. Measurements are listed per product.
Who designs Doublet?
Masayuki Ino, who founded the label in 2012 and won the LVMH Prize in 2018.
