The Tokyo House Behind the Skull
Mastermind World is the global expression of a label first founded in Tokyo in 1997 by Masaaki Homma, who launched the original mastermind JAPAN after beginning his career under Yohji Yamamoto. In 2017 the brand evolved into Mastermind World, carrying its domestic legacy to a worldwide audience while preserving its uncompromising standards. Homma is said to have redrawn the now-iconic skull-and-crossbones motif more than a thousand times, and that emblem went on to spark the skull movement that defined a generation of Japanese menswear.
