Doublet由井野将之与他的制版师村上隆于2012年在日本创立。Doublet于2013年在东京时装周上展示了他们的第一个春夏系列。品牌名称的灵感来源于《爱丽丝梦游仙境》的作者刘易斯·卡罗尔，他创造了“doublet”这个词作为“字谜”的替代名称。Doublet的最初系列让人想起传统男装，有羊毛夹克、学院风毛衣和定制裤。几个季度后，井野决定将品牌的方向从经典款式转向100%街头服饰。
