Doubletは2012年に日本で猪野正之とパターンメーカーの村上隆によって設立されました。Doubletは2013年の東京ファッションウィークで春夏コレクションを初めて発表しました。ブランド名は『不思議の国のアリス』の著者ルイス・キャロルに由来し、彼が「ダブレット」という言葉を「言葉のパズル」の別名として考案しました。‘ 初期のDoubletコレクションは伝統的なメンズウェアを思わせるウールジャケット、プレッピーなセーター、テーラードパンツが特徴でした。数シーズン後、猪野はブランドの方向性をクラシックスタイルから100％ストリートウェアへと変更することを決めました。
